SUNY College of Optometry is Hiring a Medical Equipment Technician Near New York, NY

The State University of New York College of Optometry seeks a skilled Medical Equipment Technician for a position within the various departments at the College, including the patient-care clinics, student teaching labs and research labs. 
Applicants must have a strong background in working with electronics and electro-mechanical devices. A minimum of two years’ experience and familiarity with servicing ophthalmic medical equipment are preferred.
Responsibilities:
  • Install, service and perform preventative maintenance on medical instrumentation in an efficient and timely manner.
  • Maintain calibrations of equipment.
  • Control inventory of supplies, tools and parts.
  • Troubleshooting issues with ophthalmic equipment and devices.
  • Establish and maintain relations with ophthalmic equipment vendors.
The salary range for this position is $70,000 to $80,000. There is also a generous benefits package including health insurance, dental insurance, retirement plan, flexible spending program, and paid sick and personal days. We are a qualifying employer in the federal Public Service Loan Forgiveness (PSLF) Program. View our Benefits at a Glance.
